CCF and Outdoor Education
Combined Cadets Force (CCF)
WA is proud to offer two CCF sections.
The Royal Air Force Combined Cadet Force is an exciting opportunity for students to be trained in military drill and presentation, aerospace engineering, field craft and soldiering.
The Army CCF promotes responsibility, self-reliance, resourcefulness and an understanding of service to the community. Activities include; drill, skill at arms, fieldcraft, first aid and adventurous training.
Our CCF programmes have been extremely popular since launching in 2018. Through them we aim to give students a sense of pride, duty, camaraderie, determination and discipline that they will carry with them throughout their time in the cadets and beyond.
Duke of Edinburgh’s Award (DofE)
Our Duke of Edinburgh’s Award programme provides an excellent opportunity for students to develop leadership skills as they work towards their Bronze, Silver and Gold awards. Students personalise the Volunteering, Physical and Skills sections of the award according to their interests, and enjoy working in groups to participate in the overnight expeditions in the countryside.
Outdoors Education
The Academy offers residential opportunities to each new Year 7 and Year 12 cohort as part of the transition process.
Thanks to the Dangoor family, we also have exciting links with Outwards Bound and the British Exploring Society, which have provided impactful once-in-a-lifetime experiences for our students.
