Welcome to WA Sixth Form!

"Thank you for giving the International Baccalaureate Board of Governors the opportunity to hear the history, ethos and commitment of Westminster Academy. It is such a powerful story of community building and providing access to quality education. The students were the best ambassadors for the school, and being evidence of the results the school is able to reach. We were truly impressed!" (Olli-Pekka Heinonen, Director General of the IB, after visiting WA in November 2022)

PW 2021 10 22 IMG 3322Ours is a wonderfully diverse community at WA and to achieve our mission - “Education is Success” - we offer an education that provides not only the excellent academic outcomes that give students choices, but a broad and balanced education that nurtures curiosity, focuses on critical thinking and intercultural understanding so that students embody the IB Learner Profile and are equipped to make an impact upon the world.

The WA Sixth Form is a supportive community which carefully guides young people through these two important years to help them feel prepared for university, apprenticeships, careers and the personal challenges that come as a young adult. We offer students numerous extra-curricular opportunities to gain real life experiences, to develop socially and emotionally, and to have fun. We are proud of our IB students' consistently excellent academic achievements and we are even more proud of the principled, caring young people they become.

IB programmes aim to develop specific attributes that empower learners to promote intercultural understanding and respect; these attributes form the IB Learner Profile and are embedded in our ethos at Westminster Academy.
