Year Coordinator with Subject Specialism
Back to VacanciesAre you a passionate teacher ready to take the next step in your career? Westminster Academy is seeking an inspiring and committed Year Coordinator to join our outstanding pastoral team - the role is comparable to a 'Head of Year' title. This is a fantastic opportunity for a teacher who thrives on building strong relationships, championing student wellbeing, and shaping the school experience of a year group.
We’re particularly interested in candidates with subject specialisms in Science, Geography or Computing, but we welcome applications from teachers of all subjects - we’re focused on finding the right person to support and lead our students.
As a Year Coordinator, you’ll play a central role in the academic progress, personal development, and pastoral care of a cohort of students. You will join a supportive and high-performing team of Year Coordinators and should be open to leading any year group, depending on the Academy's needs.
If you’re a dedicated teacher with a passion for pastoral leadership and a desire to make a meaningful impact, we’d love to hear from you.
Our school
We are an 11-18 academy and IB World School serving a multi-ethnic community in central London. Westminster Academy (WA) is one of the few schools in London to offer both the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme and IB Career-Related Programme in our Sixth Form. True to our mission, “Education is Success”, we strive to give students the tools they will need to fulfil their highest aspirations, to unlock the future pathways of their own choosing, and to value and make a positive impact on the world around them.
The Academy is proud of its work to improve outcomes for students in a supportive, engaging environment. Classroom teaching and learning and rigorous assessment is enhanced by one-to-one chromebooks and access to a wide range of learning platforms which benefit from AI technology to truly personalise independent learning for students. The school was graded as ‘good’ in its November 2023 Ofsted inspection, which noted the school's 'calm environment in which pupils can learn' and that 'staff are proud to work at the school.' Our Sixth Form was graded ‘Outstanding’, with reference to the 'high quality' educational provision and 'highly ambitious curriculum' embedded through our IB programmes.
