Back to NewsThree WA teams take basketball glory!
We’re delighted to end the term with some fantastic basketball news!
Three out of four WA teams made it to the finals of the 3v3 Mid-Season Westminster League Championship - and all won! A huge congratulations to everyone involved!
The London Basketball Association organised a 3v3 mid-season tournament for U14 and U16 Boys and Girls at the American School in London. It was a fantastic and well-organised event.
On December 4th, the U16 Boys played against ASL in the final, securing a hard-fought 10:8 victory. The U16 Girls also faced ASL in their final and triumphed with a decisive 9:0 win.
The following day, the Under 14 teams played. The U14 Boys struggled with the pace of the game but showed great determination, reaching the playoffs. They narrowly lost the 3rd–4th place match against ASL in overtime, 6:4. The U14 Girls won their group stage and faced a tough final against Southbank International, emerging victorious in a nail-biting 8:7 game. Abigail said, “On 5th December I was lucky enough to attend a 3x3 competition hosted by the LBA. I was very grateful that I won MVP (The Most Valuable Player) and was given the opportunity to showcase my school as well. Overall, it was a lovely event and I would definitely go again”.
We are incredibly proud of our teams for their outstanding representation of WA, their families, and their commitment, effort, and attendance.
Well done, everyone!
