Interfaith Iftar at the NHM

Nhm iftar 1On Monday 17th of April, some of our Year 10 students had the privilege of being part of the Interfaith Iftar dinner at the Natural History Museum. This event was organised by the Naz Legacy Foundation which is a UK-based charity whose mission is to help young people by providing advice and assistance, programmes, activities and other support to develop their skills, capacities and capabilities. As part of the event, the students had the opportunity to experience a “Behind-The-Scenes Collection Tour” of the Darwin Centre with a number of researchers and scientists from the Natural History Museum including a very close encounter with Archie, the 8.62-meter-long giant squid!

The students were able to hear key messages from very important guests which included Gillian Keegan, Secretary of State for Education, The Bishop of London, Doug Gurr, Director of the Natural History Museum and Rabbi Hackenbroch.

It was a fantastic evening for the students and they were treated to a buffet meal with an wonderfu variety of different dishes. Additionally one of our students, Sofia Mcleish-Mclean, was also interviewed by the Natural History Museum Press team and discussed her passionate interest in climate change.Nhm iftar 2
