Celebrating the European Day of Languages at Westminster Academy

Last term the MFL Department proudly celebrated the European Day of Languages, bringing our school community together for a day filled with languages, culture, food and fun!

Students from across the school enthusiastically took part in a range of exciting activities, including multilingual tongue twisters, challenging quizzes and interactive games. They tested their language skills, discovered new words and phrases, and competed to win tokens that could be exchanged for delicious free food prepared by our fantastic Catering Team.

The celebration was a wonderful opportunity to recognise and embrace the rich cultural and linguistic diversity of our school community. Through the tongue twister challenge, students experienced first-hand how exciting and challenging it can be to speak another language, while appreciating the importance of language learning in bringing people together.

The atmosphere was filled with enthusiasm, laughter and a fantastic sense of community. It was wonderful to see students stepping out of their comfort zones, supporting one another and celebrating the many languages and cultures that make our school so special.

At Westminster Academy, we are proud of our diversity and believe that every language opens a door to a new culture, new connections and new opportunities. What better way to celebrate this than by learning, playing and sharing together?
