Back to NewsVirtual work experience results in hands-on skills in architecture
A Year 13 student took advantage of an online work experience placement at David Miller Architects (DMA) on a programme aiming to teach students the basics of designing a house in five days.
I was thrilled at the chance to be offered the work experience with DMA during my October half term and I was not disappointed. I thought this experience and being able to work with DMA was very insightful and fruitful because I got to understand the day to day life of an architect. Working with DMA was the first step I took in pursuing a degree in this field. To actually see my work published in the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) Journal is the ultimate motivation for me to pursue an architectural degree. This is an ambition that I would like to see fulfilled, and hopefully my work will be published in another RIBA Journal.
