Back to NewsCareer Ready programme virtual launch
Last Thursday, myself and a handful of other Year 12 students had the chance to attend the Career Ready Icebreaker.
Career Ready is an organisation which provides sixth form and college students the opportunity to become more prepared for the world of work, which is achieved through a set of masterclasses and a paid internship. The event on Thursday served as an introduction to our mentors, who will be guiding us through the process and helping us develop professionally. The event itself was a great experience, with the Lord Mayor in attendance, who gave us a very helpful talk about career paths and the value of education. This was followed by introductions to the mentors and then finally, one to one conversations with our mentors so we could get to know them.
I think that it was a great experience and an even better introduction to what we’ll be looking forward to over the next few months.
