Back to NewsWA celebrates Oxbridge offers
Following our recent UCAS update, we're pleased to share the happy news that one of our Year 13 students has received an offer to read Natural Sciences at The University of Cambridge.
We had seven Oxbridge applicants this year who have all worked commendably hard to ensure that they submitted the best applications possible! Of these, six students secured interviews, with the above student being offered a place at Cambridge, and two students being offered places at Oxford; one to read English Literature and the other to read Law.
Oxbridge applications operate slightly differently to other university applications, in that candidates are asked to sit very challenging entrance examinations. If they perform well in these examinations, they are then invited to interview, and if they perform well at interview, are given offers.
Places are extremely competitive, with only approximately 50% of applicants being interviewed, and hundreds of applicants per place. Our students should therefore be very proud of themselves!
We look forward to more news of offers for the exciting universities to which our students have applied.
