Year 10s focus on the future in Work Experience Preparation Week

On-site Work Experience Week was really helpful to me as someone who had never done an interview or even applied for a job before. Careers fair 2026 civil service img 0178

Being able to practise those skills during my mock interview, and getting feedback was a great learning experience. I also enjoyed the Careers Fair; talking to so many people who were enthusiastic about their jobs helped me understand just how many opportunities there are available to me. The amount of passion and care some people put into their work is really inspiring and I hope I can achieve the same someday.

Ms Jomaa, WA’s Careers Coordinator, also received the following feedback from students on their experience of the on-site Work Experience Preparation Week 2026:

“I was surprised by how loud, clear and confident I sounded during my interview, especially as I was feeling nervous.”

“The communication was really good, and the interview felt engaging because the interviewer asked lots of questions and kept the conversation going.”

“The feedback I received was really helpful and gave me clear ideas on how to improve for future interviews.”
