On 24th April the whole of Year 7 got a surprise visit from an awesome author named Janeen Hayat. Janeen wrote the book ‘Evie and Maryam’s Family Tree’, which is about two girls who unexpectedly meet and have a history together. 

Janeen delivered an assembly to the whole of Year 7 talking about her life, family and journey to becoming an author. After the assembly ended, 25 students - including myself - were chosen to do a more personal workshop with none other than Janeen herself. It was very fun and an amazing opportunity as we wrote our very own stories and shared them with each other and a real author!

Once again, it was a spectacular opportunity and I hope Janeen can continue sharing her story and encouraging aspiring authors.
